We chose blue and green to "softly " illuminate the building and to add contrast in color and hue... That's to say we just wanted to make it interesting without making it to offensive.
We also wanted the entrance to the restaurant to really be inviting and make people gravitate towards it. Humans are drawn to the brightest area of any space (as long as it's not uncomfortable, ie.... glaring). One of my favorite applications is to take a large entry way and illuminate it from the inside. This allows the building to "glow from within" which attracts the eye and draws you to the entry......

In addition to the exterior uplighting and vestibule lighting, we also incorporated window shade treatments on the south windows to reduce glare and heat. We also utilized LED step lighting for exterior egress lighting. By going with LED we were able to reduce the cost of the emergency system and provide a fixture that was essentially maintenance free.
I can't wait until the next "Shogun" project comes along....
